Are You Your Own Walking Billboard?

For Christmas, my friend got me the greatest t-shirt EVER!

So, what is it and why is it the greatest t-shirt ever you ask?!

Whelp, it’s a shirt advertising Duke of Marketing and offering the free marketing kit (Like I always stress, have an offer on all of your marketing).

Here are the front and back pictures:

DOM Shirt Front

As you can see, the logo is in the upper left (right to you) of the t-shirt. Oh, and my sidekick Ranger wanted to say, “hello!”

DOM Shirt Back

Notice the offer for the Free Marketing Kit, along with the picture and web address.

I just thought this was the greatest t-shirt ever!  What a pal I have.

Now I can go struttin’ my stuff and become a walking billboard for my business.

Which, brings me to a vision I had…  Why on earth are we always spending money on someone else’s design of clothes when we can design our own clothes, with our own logos and call to actions, and get billboard exposure?!!

It’s never been easier to go online, find a printer (This shirt was printed by VistaPrint, but there are many other printers out there), design your shirt, and in no time you’re ready to run around town with your new designer shirt, with your business info!

You see a lot of trade businesses wearing their colors and logos while on the job, but how about after work?  Why not always be advertising your business?  What do you have to lose?  Why spend money to advertise for someone else?

I see a lot of Realtors where their “R” logo, but don’t you think having a shirt would draw a lot more attention?  I also notice a lot of landscapers where their t-shirts/hoodies around town all the time (now they’re on to something).

You can get t-shirts, hoodies, polo-shirts, you name it I’m sure you can find it.

Now, when you have your shirts printed up, be sure to always include an offer, like my shirt above.  Heck, you could even say something like, “Instead of Reading This Shirt Ask Me About (some kind of offer)”

What do you have to lose?  If you’re going to spend money buying clothes, you might as well buy clothes with your own advertising on them.  Right?

What ever you do, always be thinking “outside-of-the-box” with your marketing.

What are some ways you could get new exposure with your marketing that you haven’t thought of before?  How can you be different from the masses?
