Discover Why Your Marketing STINKS!

Hahaha!  This was one of my first articles I wrote on Duke of Marketing.  I got a good laugh out of it, and it’s a quick read with a great lesson which most people miss with their marketing.

Enjoy!

Do you smell something?

Do you smell something?

Let me guess, you put an ad in the paper, sent out a few postcards and are waiting by the phone thinking it’s about to start ringing off the hook. We’ll, I have news for you… Your phone is not going to ring.

You’ll see a lot of pretty looking advertisements everywhere you look, but they won’t be getting any prospects. All these pretty fancy ads are worth is the price of toilet paper.

So, what are they lacking? I’m sure it’s many things, but today we’re going to focus on the CALL-TO-ACTION.

How Come Nobody Is Calling?

Go pick up a magazine or newspaper and look at the ads especially from small local businesses. Most of them have their cute logo, a few products or services they offer, and a phone number. But, where’s the Call-To-Action?

How come the ads aren’t saying to call now for a free report or 20% of your first order by June 5, 2013? why Why WHY??

You must use a Call-To-Action in all of your marketing! People need to be told what to do. They need their hands held while walking down the alley. Got it? Good.

How I Got A Prospect To Call By Writing “Call Me” On A Postcard

So, when I started learning about Call-To-Actions, I decided to implement what I learned on some real estate postcards that I was sending to expired listings for a top producer. I made it very simple… I wrote “Call Me” with an arrow pointed to the phone number. I didn’t have a clue if it was going to work, but two days later the Realtor got a call from a seller saying she got her postcard in the mail and that she was calling because it said to call her. Ha! It works.

The goal is for you prospects to take action.

So, go over all of your current ads, postcards, flyers, whatever it may be and put in a Call-To-Action. Give prospects a reason to response right now. Still not sure how to do this? Feel free to give me a call by clicking the “Call Me” button in the header.

Now go take action!
