Follow Up With Clients On Their Yearly Anniversary

Wow!

I can’t believe it’s been one year… one year since I made my first purchase at Pens.com.

And, no, I didn’t remember when I made my first purchase, Pens.com sent me a ‘reminder email’ with an offer of 20% off ANY purchase as a “Thank You!”

You know I’ve been a big fan of Pens.com ever since I created an LLC and they started marketing to me.  Ever since then, about once a month, I get new pens in the mail, calendars (be sure to check out December 3rds blog post with an example of this personalized calendar), and daily emails with offers (and they match ’em up to the holidays, events, etc.).

So today I want to share with you the excellent ‘anniversary email’ I received.

Subject Line:  It’s been a Year!  Happy Anniversary!

Here’s the screenshot of the email:

Pens One Year Anniversary Email

Short, sweet, and to the point!

Key Takeaways:

  • There’s an OFFER.  They show their appreciation to me as a customer by offering me 20% off all products.
  • There’s a DEADLINE.  If I want to take advantage of the offer then I better act now before the offer expires.
  • There’s a PICTURE.  Little present box gives this email a little curiosity.  What’s inside?
  • Answers the “So What?!”  (Check out Monday’s Back-to-the-Basics about ‘So what?” by clicking here)  Happy Anniversary!  “So what?”  Well, we want to give you 20% off any order!  Boom!  Grabs my attention.

This isn’t some complex email that will take you all day to put together to send to your clients on their one year anniversary.

Tell them it’s been one year since they become a customer/client.  Make them an offer.  Create urgency with a deadline.  Reap the rewards.

And, the best part is you only have to create this email once then include it in your auto-responder to go out on your client’s one year anniversary.  Easy-peasy.

Are you sending yearly “Happy Anniversary” emails to your clients thanking them for their business?  If not, why?  You do know without them you wouldn’t have a business, right?
