So, Saturday I received a postcard in the mail from a marketing / printing company with a “special offer.” Well, actually they mailed the “special offer” to me about two weeks ago, but this was an extended version. Do you see the “special offer extended” with the date in the above picture? What does the date say??
May 27-31, 2013. So, what’s wrong with that? We’ll… I received the postcard on Saturday, June 1!!!! Heck, they didn’t even give me a second chance to respond.
Lesson For Today
What’s the lesson here? Always be sure your mailings GET TO YOUR PROSPECTS BEFORE THE DEADLINE. Otherwise, it just makes you look stupid. Sure we all make mistakes, but please, don’t make this mistake.
It’s usually best to mail out a week in advance before the deadline. Since it started May 27 it should have been in the mail no later than May 20 (Monday).
**MAILING TIP** I spoke with the Post Office about presorted mail and the new Every Door Direct Mail, and they said never mail out on Monday or Tuesday because that’s when all of the other so called “junk mail” goes out in the mail.
Now go take action!
