When I tell people I make money from Affiliate Marketing, I usually get a “deer in headlights” look on their face. They have nooo clue what I’m talking about, so I explain it to them.
Affiliate Marketing is promoting other people’s products or services. When a prospect clicks on your affiliate link (a special link given to you by your affiliate so they can track the sale) and buys the product or service, you get credit for it… which means… You get a commission check! Woot!
The largest affiliate company is… ta-dum: Amazon (no surprise there with all their products they have). Look towards the bottom of the right column on here and you’ll see a little Amazon widget with books. Those are affiliate links. You click on a book, buy it, I receive a check.
It’s as simple as that! Well… it is and it isn’t.
Anyone can get into Affiliate Marketing, but most people never make a single dime. 🙁
The best way to get into Affiliate Marketing is to find a company who sells related products and services to what you offer.
Take me for example…
I love-love-love marketing!
So, I find companies who are in the marketing business. Like… I’m a paying member of GKIC and get the No B.S. Marketing Letter every month. Sure it costs me money every month, but the tips and tricks I learn for my online and offline businesses far outweigh the costs.
With that… I signed up to be an affiliate with GKIC (I used to tell everyone about them before I was an affiliate, and decided I should probably start getting paid for it). I know promote their Gold Membership, free marketing kit, and their other products.
I’ve tested them, they work for me, and I know they’ll work for you. That’s why I promote them!
In my 3D Mail posts, you can see I use 3D mailers to send out to real estate prospects. I’ve had great success with these 3D mailers (you can see all of the 3D Mail products by Clicking Here), so I decided to promote the products to help you with your marketing needs.
The thing with Affiliate Marketing is to sign up with companies that have products and services you have used and liked (I can’t stress this enough… be sure you sign up with companies where you have used AND LIKED their products and services). If you’re signing up for every affiliate under the sun, and have never used any of the products, you’ll be one of the affiliate marketers who never make a dime (and that’s all you deserve).
Here’s another example… Say you’re a personal trainer (your only source of income) and you would like to find other ways to make even more money. What do you think you can do?? Become an affiliate!
You could sign up for Amazon Affiliate, find fitness books and products (be sure to have read and used the products), and promote them on your site. Do a review on the products or books and include your affiliate link so interested prospects can check out the products. You could also promote nutritional supplements.

I remember back in March I got my first affiliate check. It was for a whopping $39.60! I felt like a won the lottery (I framed that bad boy and have it hung on the wall for me to look at everyday). I’ve been making low 3 figures since. Nothing earth shattering, but it’s an extra stream of income incase one stream dries up.
