When you think of postcards you probably think of landscapers, real estate agents, home improvement companies, etc., but do you ever think about postcards being used as a hiring tool?
Whelp, that’s just what the grocery chain, Aldi, has done!
Below is an example of an Aldi postcard that my friend got in her mailbox. I know of one other person in the same area who also received the same postcard…
Very interesting!
A few things that stand out to me:
- It’s crystal clear what the postcard is all about… HIRING (it’s literally all over the front and back).
- The pay: $16.50/hour.
- The company that’s hiring: Aldi!
- Specific deadline.
- How to apply.
This is really one heck of a postcard. It’s not very pretty, but it spells out exactly what’s being offered (a job as Warehouse Associate), how to go get said job, how much said job starts at, and when and where to apply for said job.
I don’t know too much of the logistics of this postcard… So I don’t know exactly where they sent it to besides a certain neighborhood, how many they sent out or how many people actually showed up to apply.
But I do know this, my friend did end up going to the hiring event and she said it took about 20 minutes just to get to the security gate. There were a line of cars backed up onto the street, so basically if you were driving by you were going to sit for a while.
So the postcard did its job and brought tons of people to the hiring event.
Just goes to show you can use postcards for just about anything!
Now get your thinking caps on… what can you do differently on your next postcard that will bring a flood of prospects, customers, and clients (or even job candidates) to your door?
Now go take action!
